Vision Database System

Bio-Optics provides several database systems designed for the vision community. Included as an integral part of several of our image analysis systems is a simple and expandable database that includes the image file name, cell counting and analysis numbers, and patient or donor cornea information. EyeBank DataBase and Clinical DataBase provide more extensive database features. All databases can be expanded by the user to include other information that might be desired.

Bambi Database
Our cell counting and analysis applications, Bambi 2
500 includes a database that allows images, analytical results, and eyebank or clinical information to be stored in an easy-to-access database. In most cases, the analytical results from any of our analysis programs is automatically entered into the database. The database can be displayed from the press of a button on the screen. Data can be automatically sorted either by the date and time of photography or by patient name or donor cornea number. Changes can be made as desired. The database can be imported into Borland Paradox, Microsoft Access, Microsoft FoxPro, Oracle or most other database packages and expanded as desired.

EyeBank DataBase
Eyebank Database is a multi-page database that closely follows the format of the forms used by the Eye Bank Association of America. EyebankDB maintains a database of donor and recipient information, laboratory and specular microscopy results, adverse reactions, etc. and can print adverse reaction reports, letters and invoices that are necessary in the operation of a modern eye bank. EyebankDB allows the necessary data to be stored and the reports generated as are recommended by the Eye Bank Association of America.

Clinical DataBase
ClinicDB is a multi-page database similar to EyebankDB but that maintains a database of patient information, laboratory and specular microscopy results, adverse reactions, etc. and can print adverse reaction reports, letters and invoices that are necessary in the operation of an eye clinic. The database is in Paradox for Windows format and can be imported into Borland Paradox, Microsoft Access, Microsoft FoxPro, Oracle or most other database packages and expanded as desired.
Bio-Optics would welcome the input of clinicians who would like to become involved in the interface and design of ClinicDB so as to make it even more useful.
